Abstract
A 27-year-old healthy woman without any previous eye symptoms presented with acute left eye discomfort and visual blur. Visual acuity was 20/20, intraocular pressure was 26 mmHg in her left eye. Examination revealed a 1-mm hyphema, some discrete localized lens opacities, and a patent hyaloid artery running from the optic nerve anteriorly (Fig A). Retroillumination showed some vessel branching extending from Mittendorf’s dot (Fig B, asterisk) to the anterior capsule and temporal iris (Fig B). OCT centered on the optic nerve highlights the vertical trajectory of the hyaloid artery (Fig C).
