Abstract

The hypervapotron heat sink designs have been adopted in the ITER plasma-facing components, namely for the Enhanced Heat Flux First Wall panels and Divertor Dome Plasma-Facing Units. The outcomes of recent discussion among the Domestic Agencies and ITER Organization on requirements for the qualifications and production controls are reported. In addition, the paper summarizes the hypervapotron design, manufacturing technology, and urgent R&D tasks identified in the discussion.
