Abstract

The 2012 ACM Hypertext Conference was held in Milwaukee, USA, from June 25th to June 28th. Located at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the conference venue was beautifully located at the campus, providing an excellent infrastructure and environment for attending talks, discussions, meetings, and getting to know Milwaukee. The General Chair was Ethan Munson, complemented by the Program Chair Markus Strohmaier, the Publicity Chair Alvin Chin, the Workshop Chairs Arkaitz Zubiaga and Carlos Solis, and the respective Workshop and Track Co-Chairs. 120 submissions and 77 registered participants reflected the strong interest of the community in the conference, and in advancing and discussing the state of social media and hypertext research. Logistically, the conference was structured into to four main tracks: Track 1 focused on "Social Media". Track 2 focused on "Semantic Data", Track 3 "Adaptive Hypertext and Hypermedia", and Track 4 on "Hypertext and Narrative Connections". Combined, 33 peer-reviewed papers (overall acceptance rate of 27.5%) were presented at the conference.
