Abstract

Hypersensitivity reactions to contrast media (CM) are the third leading cause of all cutaneous drug reactions, after antibiotics and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.1 However, risk factors and the usefulness of skin tests differ from one study to another. In the present study, we examined the incidence and identified new risk factors of hypersensitivity reactions to nonionic iodinated and gadolinium CM. Moreover, we investigated the diagnostic performance of skin testing for the selection of safe alternatives.
