Abstract

Hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP) is a complex disease with a broad spectrum of clinical presentation and disease course. Although the pathobiology of HP remains poorly understood, it is believed to result from repeated exposure to an organic antigen. Diagnosis of HP is challenging and distinguishing it from other types of interstitial lung disease may be difficult. Identification of a potential antigen plays a key role in the diagnosis and management of HP. This article reviews the clinical features, diagnosis and management of HP.
