Abstract

© The Authors • Journal compilation © Blackwell Verlag GmbH, Berlin • JDDG • 1610-0379/2012/1008 JDDG | 8 2012 (Band 10) A 35-year-old man of South American origin presented with lesions on the nape, hands and feet as well as flexures with a progressive course over 5 months. Findings included focal hyperkeratoses of plantar skin (Figure 1) with extension to the dorsal aspects of the toes and the lateral edge of the feet, gray-brown hyperkeratoses over the dorsal interphalangeal joints of both hands resembling knuckle pads (Figure 2a), conical papules on the distal dorsal aspects of the fingers (Figure 2b) as well as slight focal palmar hyperkeratosis. The antecubital flexures, axillae (Figure 2c), popliteal flexures as well as the nape of the neck (Figure 2d) demonstrated gray-black, firmly adherent hyperkeratoses with exaggeration of the normal skin markings.
