Abstract

Precise calculations are reported of the ϱ-type doubling constant of H 2 + that differ from the values derived from measurements of transition frequencies by less than 0.1% or 30 kHz. Taken in conjunction with measurements of the transition frequencies, similar calculations for HD + can yield a precise value of the quadrupole moment of the deuteron.
