Abstract
Laser emission between the 2P 1 2 and 2P 3 2 states of Br has been observed during flash photolysis of CF 3Br. The total emission consists of transitions between several hyperfine levels of these states; the time behavior of the individual emissions from these transitions indicates that photodissociation of CF 3Br preferentially pumps Br 2P 1 2 ( F = 1).
