Abstract
119Sn Mossbauer spectra have been measured for a dilute SnEr alloy (<0.03 at.% Sn). It is shown that the results obtained with the alloy in the conical ferromagnetic (low-temperature) and sinusoidal antiferromagnetic (high-temperature) phases are consistent with the known magnetic structures of these phases if it is assumed that the hyperfine field at each 119Sn nucleus is proportional to the host magnetization at its site. At 4.2 °K the magnitude of the single-valued hyperfine field acting on all the 119Sn nuclei was found to be (124±4) kG.
