Abstract

Recent developments in the theory of hyperfine interaction between the nuclear spins and the spins of two dimensional electrons under strong magnetic field and its relevance to the rapidly growing experimental activity in this field is discussed. The crucial role of electron correlations on the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation time and on nuclear spin diffusion is described in the formalism where the elementary excitations are the spin-excitons and skyrmions.
