Abstract

The indium spectrum emitted from a hollow cathodedischarge has been recorded using a Fourier transformspectrometer. Accurate wavelengths have been determinedfor 54 In II lines, and improved In IIenergy levels have been derived. The hyperfine structureof 42 lines has been analysed, yielding hyperfineconstants A and B for 23 In II levels. Thespin-forbidden In I transition 5s25p2P-5s5p2 4P has also been analysed and absolutewavelengths, hyperfine constantsA and B and improved energy level values are reported.
