Abstract
A case of hypercalcemia is presented that occurred during the diuretic phase of acute renal failure and lasted for 10 days. A period of oliguria that lasted 19 days and of hypocalcemia that lasted no more than 22 days preceded the development of hypercalcemia. Physicians treating patients in acute renal failure are urged to consider hypercalcemia as a hazard of the diuretic phase.
