Abstract

Bending of laminated composite plates with a cutout subjected to moisture and temperature is investigated. An eight-noded isoparametric element, which takes transverse shear deformation into account, is used in the present analysis. Three types of cutouts are considered, namely, circular, rounded corner square, and square. The distribution of deflection and moment resultants are studied in anti-symmetric laminates for simply supported and clamped boundary conditions, subjected to uniform moisture and temperature.
