Abstract

This paper reports the synthesised of NiO/ZnO hexagonal wurtzite nanorods by hydrothermal method. Crystal structure and morphological properties of particles were examined by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffraction. XRD measurements showed that ZnO particles have a hexagonal wurtzite structure and NiO particles have a which can be controlled by varying the concentration of NiO precursor. Optical property of the NiO/ZnO using a UV-Vis. spectrophotometer in the wavelength range from 200 to 600 nm and UV results found to be increase in the absorbance efficiency in visible light conditions. The FT-IR result shows the stretching vibration of the Zn-O bond in Ni doped ZnO nanoparticle due to chemical interaction. The influence of NiO on the morphological was appeared hexagonal nanorod arrays with proper symmetry and the electrochemical performance of NiO doped ZnO tested to determine the oxidation/reduction processes by cyclic voltammetry.
