Abstract
A novel trinuclear manganese(II) complex, Mn3(C12H8N2)2(C10H11O5)6 (I), has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal belongs to the monoclinic system, space group P21/n, with cell parameters a = 12.1935(7), b = 19.0249(11), c = 18.0515(10)A, β = 105.0430(10)°, V = 4044.1(4)A3, Z = 2. Two of the three manganese atoms in the crystal structure are crystallographically equivalent and adopt N2O4 coordination mode, whereas the remaining manganese atom adopts O6 coordination mode, which forms a nearly regular octahedron. The experimental result of thermal analysis shows that complex I remains stable below 300°C.
