Abstract

A novel three-dimensional (3D) organic-inorganic hybrid compound, [Cu(en)2][(Cu(en)2)2PNaW11O39]· 0.5H2O (1) (en = ethylenediamine), has been synthesized based on the lacunary Keggin polyoxometalates (POMs) with one sodium cation embedded into its vacancy and simultaneously modified by [Cu(en)2]2 + complex cations under hydrothermal condition. The compound 1 was characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, IR, UV and TG. It is interesting that 1D chains in compound 1, which are constructed by sodium cations linking the anion units, are connected by [Cu(en)2]2 + complex cations to form 3D framework. The electrochemical behavior and ferromagnetic property of compound 1 have been studied in detail.
