Abstract

AbstractA new 3‐D inorganic‐organic hybrid compound {[Cu(4,4′‐bipy)]3(4,4′‐bipy)}[PMo12O40]·2H2O (1) was hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by IR, TG and X‐ray diffraction analysis. Single crystal X‐ray diffraction confirms that this compound crystallizes in the triclinic crystal system, space group P‐1 with a = 10.9180(11), b = 12.3759(13), c = 13.0264(13) Å, α = 113.3560(10)°, β = 93.8730(10)°, γ = 99.0300(10)°. V = 1579.4(3) Å3, Z = 1. Structural analysis indicates that compound 1 exhibits a three‐dimensional structure, in which Keggin anions [PMo12O40]3− are linked by infinite [Cu(4,4′‐bipy)]+n chains through Cu‐O, and come into being a 3‐D inorganic‐organic hybrid open framework. The guest 4,4′‐bipy molecules and water molecules are filled in the channel formed by Keggin anions [PMo12O40]3− and [Cu(4,4′‐bipy)]+n chains.
