Abstract

TiO2 nanotubes (TNTs) were prepared by a hydrothermal treatment method at low temperatures. The source materials, annealing temperature and hydrothermal treatment time play important roles in the morphology, structure and photocatalytic behavior of TiO2 nanotubes. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and the transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images indicate that the diameter of the nanotubes is 10– 20 nm. The experimental results show that the morphology and structure of the nanotubes is thermally unstable. The photocatalytic activities of the TiO2 nanotubes were also characterized by the decolourization of methylene blue under UV radiation.KeywordsMethylene BluePhotocatalytic ActivityPhotocatalytic DegradationMethylene BlueHydrothermal TreatmentThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
