Abstract
A “butterfly” ionic complex has been synthesized under hydrothermal condition, starting from di-benzyltin dichloride, triethylamine and tetrafluorophthalic acid. The crystal structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in the triclinic system, space group P1 with a = 14.231(2)A, b = 15.083(2)A, c = 24.365(3)A, β = 90.729(2)°, Z = 2, V = 4825.3(11)A3. Its crystal structure was determined and refined to a final R = 0.0944 for 16262 independent reflections. The center Sn atom is hexa-coordinated and displays a distorted octahedron.
