Abstract

Two new 3D gallophosphate compounds Ga 4P 5O 22H 5⋅[C 5N 2H 16] (named JGP-8) and Ga 5P 6O 26H 2⋅[C 3N 2H 12] 2⋅H 3O (named JGP-9) have been synthesized hydrothermally by using organic amines as the template. They are characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), elemental analysis, inductively coupled plasma (ICP) and TGA analysis and structurally determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. JGP-8 crystallizes in the orthorhombic, space group P b c n (No. 60), with a = 25.158 ( 5 ) Å , b = 9.054 ( 2 ) Å , c = 10.166 ( 2 ) Å , V = 2315.6 ( 8 ) Å 3 and Z = 4 . The 3D anionic framework of JGP-8 is constructed from the inorganic layers and HPO 4 tetrahedra, in which the inorganic layers consist of a repetition of novel Ga 2P 2O 10 single four-rings (S4Rs). JGP-9 crystallizes in the triclinic, space group P-1 (No. 2), with a = 8.642 ( 2 ) Å , b = 9.510 ( 2 ) Å , c = 10.050 ( 2 ) Å , α = 117.22 ( 3 ) ° , β = 93.83 ( 3 ) ° , γ = 90.28 ( 3 ) ° , V = 732.3 ( 3 ) Å 3 and Z = 1 . The 3D anionic framework of JGP-9 is built up from the inorganic layers and HPO 4 tetrahedra, in which the inorganic layers consist of a repetition of enneameric Ga 5(PO 4) 4O 6 structural fragments.
