Abstract
Theγ-Fe2O3particles with nanometer size have been hydrothermally synthesized using 2-methoxyethanol (MOE)-H2O mixed solvent and acetylacetone(Hacac) as additive from iron(II) 2-methoxyethoxides (Fe(MOEO)2). The typical reaction conditions are as follows: [Table]The as-prepared powders are characterized by experimental techniques such as IR, XRD, TG-DTA, and TEM. The magnetic properties of the particles have been evaluated using a vibrating magnetometer. The nanocrystallineγ-Fe2O3particles appear at a lower agglomeration and phase transformation temperature than those prepared from other methods.
