Abstract

The optical absorption of CdInGaS4 and ZnIn2S4 single crystals has been measured over a hydrostatic pressure range up to 35 kbar in the 1.6 - 3.5 eV photon energy range at room temperature. The interband gap for indirect allowed transition of CdInGaS4 was found to have a pressure coefficient, dEg/dP, of (+4.1±0.3)×10-6 eV/bar, and that for direct allowed transition in ZnIn2S4 was found to have (+4.9±0.6)×10-6 eV/bar.
