Abstract
We considered the effect of non-equilibrium low-temperature plasma for hydrophilization the surface of fish skins. Fish skin is a hydrophobic material in its nature. The relevance of this issue is justified by fact that the dressing of animal skin is a series of consecutive liquid processes. Natural structure of fish skins promotes the poor diffusion of working solutions, so it hinders a chemical modification of materials. The plasma processing of fish skin provides the partition of supramolecular structure of collagen (basic protein of dermis) due to disruption of weak intermolecular bonds. This leads to better diffusion of chemical materials and as a result, liquid processes intensify and time production cycle reduces.
