Abstract

A clean and highly efficient chemical method was developed for the synthesis of hydrophilic nickel phosphate nanoparticles and the formation of nanoparticles was confirmed by discrete spectral techniques. The synthesized nanoparticles were found to be an efficient catalyst for transfer hydrogenation of aromatic nitro compounds. The reaction was carried out at room temperature using sodium borohydride as the hydrogen donor and the reaction was successful with remarkable yields.
