Abstract

An arrangement of the representative wind speed at 66 meteorological stations in Japan is made, which is available to the regional heat budget analysis. Annual evapotranspiration from the lawnland of the meteorological observation field is estimated by the heat budget method with use of routine data of the ground surface temperature. The lawnland evapotranspiration is smaller than the forest evapotranspiration by 300mmy-1. Approximate estimation of evaporation from a paved surface is made, being about 100mmy-1 in northern Japan and about 200mmy-1 in southern Japan. This value is the lower limit of the land evaporation.
