Abstract

This study is a first approach to understand the hydrologic system of the region by monitoring the water table at six wet prairie restoration sites and correlating it to rainfall records from a nearby weather station. Transects of piezometers perpendicular to Wiregrass ditch were installed to monitor the water table and hyporheic zone (Figure 3). The specific location for the transects depended on the proximity to the restoration areas within protected property of The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and Toledo Metroparks (Figure 4).
