Abstract

Hybrid metal-radical magnetic solids, Cu(hfac) 2 .HIN (1) and Mn(hfac) 2 .HIN (2) were synthesized, where HIN denotes 4,4,5,5-tetramethylimidazolin-1-oxyl. X-ray diffraction measurements of 1 and 2 showed 1-dimensional metal-radical alternating chain structures. Magnetic data of 1 and 2 could be analyzed by 1-D ferro- and ferrimagnetic chain models, respectively.
