Abstract

The catalytic activities of two commercial nickel-molybdenum-alumina catalysts were tested for hydroprocessing of coal liquefaction distillate products with b.p. up to 425 °C. One of the catalysts was effective for the hydroprocessing of coal liquefaction products at 400 °C, 8 MPa, LHSV = 0.5 h −1. Hydrogenation reactions of heteroatomic compounds, unsaturated compounds and aromatic hydrocarbons in the presence of this catalyst can be described by first order rate equations with respect to these compounds.
