Abstract

Phases of palladium-based membrane alloy, specifically thoseof Pd-In-Ru system, are investigated before and after hydrogenation by the methods of X-ray diffraction analysis and scanning electron microscopy. The diffusion filter-membrane of the alloy is hydrogenated from the gaseous hydrogen atmosphere at a temperature of 300 °C and a pressure 16 atm. The presenceof superstructure ordering domains in the alloy before hydrogenation is demonstrated. It is shown that both the presence of hydrogen absorbed by the alloy and the processes of prolonged relaxation affect phase transitions in the membrane alloy.
