Abstract

Ni supported on CeO2-SrOmixed oxide catalysts are prepared and studied for bi-reforming of methane with CO2 in the temperature range of 600–800 °C. Characteristics of the prepared catalysts depicted from various spectroscopic techniques. The characterization studies suggested that the presence of SrO enhanced the interaction of Ni with support. The reduction behavior and crystallinity of Ni is also altered with SrO addition to CeO2. The activity of the catalysts is depended on the CeO2-SrO mole ratio and Ni content. The catalyst with 12 wt.% Ni and equal mole ratios of CeO2-SrO showed better activity. The catalyst showed extraordinary stability over a period of 250 h.
