Abstract

Abstract Zirconium and Zircaloy-2 were exposed to organic reactor coolants at temperatures up to 400 C under various conditions of constant hydrogen partial pressure and low water concentration. The hydriding of zirconium was found to be independent of the presence of the organic coolant and dependent on the temperature, hydrogen partial pressure, and the presence of an oxide film on the metal. 6.3.20
