Abstract

Results of an experimental study of hydrogen combustion in a supersonic high-enthalpy air flow in axisymmetric ducts with constant and variable cross sections are described. Conditions of flow reconstruction due to heat addition in ducts of different geometry are considered. It is demonstrated that a gas-dynamic action ensures stable self-ignition and it becomes possible to control combustion in expanding ducts with special profiles.
