Abstract

Compared to the conventional hydrogen bonds, nonconventional hydrogen bonds have gained increasing interest in recent years. In this work, we firstly investigate hydrogen bonds in mixed-solvent Au-(CH3OH)(H2O) complex via gas phase anion photoelectron velocity map imaging associated with quantum chemical calculations. The vertical detachment energy of Au-(CH3OH)(H2O) complex is determined as 3.22 ± 0.02 eV. The calculations reveal these mixed-solvent solvated complexes having two stable low-energy isomers: Iso-a and Iso-b. And the experimental spectrum is ascribed to the contribution from Iso-a isomer. Detailed hydrogen bonding patterns have been revealed for both isomers.
