Abstract

In this paper, we describe the synthesis and structural characterization of the bifluoride complex Mo(PMe{sub 3}){sub 4}H{sub 2} F(FHF). In summary, structural and spectroscopic data suggest that the hydrogen-bonding interaction in the bifluoride complex Mo(PMe{sub 3}){sub 4}H{sub 2}F(FHF) may be regarded as `strong`; however, as would be expected on simple electrostatic grounds, the interaction between the covalently bound Mo-F moiety and H-F is weaker than that between F{sup -} and H-F. 25 refs., 1 fig.
