Abstract

Hydrogen-bonded helix formation by a simple N-bridged tripodal ligand is reported. The ligand has been synthesized by reduction of product formed through substitution reaction of tris(2-chloroethyl) amine hydrochloride by hydroxybenzaldehyde. The reported ligand has been characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, IR and mass spectra. Crystal structure has been characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetric analysis.
