A Model for Subgrid-Scale Flow Clement, Maurice J. Abstract A 2D/3D hydrodynamics code has been developed to study the interior fluid dynamics of oscillating, rotating stellar models on the upper main sequence. This paper provides an outline of the actual numerical scheme and includes a description of the model which is used to simulate the subgrid-scale (SGS) flow on nonuniform computational meshes. In the SGS regime, a nonisotropic eddy viscosity drives the turbulent diffusion of momentum and ensures the correct dissipation of kinetic energy.
