Abstract

METHODS: A mouse model of splinted excisional wound healing was used for all experiments to better approximate human wound healing. Macrophages were derived from the bone marrow of leptin receptor-deficient (db/db) mice, seeded onto pullulan-collagen hydrogels, and transplanted into 6-mm splinted excisional dorsal wounds in db/db mice. Histologic and microfluidic single-cell gene expression analysis allowed for assessment of survival, localization, and phenotype of transplanted cells.
