Abstract
The interactions of hydrogen with several beryllium-based alloys were investigated. Three new hydrides of intermetallic compounds were discovered. Laves phase (C15) Be 2Ti forms a hydride of approximate composition Be 2TiH 3, while the intermetallic compounds Be 2Zr and Be 2Hf of the AlB 2 (C32) type form the hydrides Be 2ZrH 2.3 and Be 2HfH respectively.
