Abstract

To reduce the vibration and noise generated by the spin state of a drum-type washing machine, a new type of hydraulic mount (HM) for a washing machine is designed. A physical model with inertia tracks is suggested and analysed using the finite-element method (FEM) and fluid–structure interaction (FSI) simulation using the software ADINA is carried out, and the frequency response characteristics of the suggested model is investigated. Two mathematical models (linear model and non-linear model) for an HM system with inertia tracks are designed, and parameters are identified with the help of FEM. Finally, a multibody dynamic model of a drum washing machine including the developed HM is built and analysed using the commercial software ADAMS and MATLAB. The simulation results for a drum-type washing machine show a good performance compared to a washing machine model with conventional dampers.
