Abstract

The problem of a viscous fluid flow in a circular tube whose internal surface is coated with a periodic layer of a magnetic fluid has been solved numerically by the finite-element method. High-viscous fluid flows have been studied experimentally at Re = 0.1–14. It is shown that the application of the low-viscous magnetofluid coating results in more than 3 fold of the reduction hydraulic drag of tubes.
