Abstract

Abstract: This investigation was carried out to determine the composition of guest components in the equilibrium hydrate phase. Measurements were made for six gas mixtures containing methane, ethane, propane, iso‐butane, n‐butane, and carbon dioxide. Gas hydrate was formed in the presence of water at two pressures, 2.07 and 6.89 MPa, and at temperatures 28°C below the corresponding equilibrium hydrate temperature. The results obtained showed that, with some exceptions, the van der Waals‐Platteeuw thermodynamic model can be used for hydrate phase composition calculations.
