Abstract
Recently, Shum and Pampoulie (submitted) commented on our paper (Rolskii et al. 2020), which provided the first genetic confirmation of golden redfish Sebastes norvegicus in the White Sea. They argued that the White Sea redfish rather belong to a S. norvegicus × S. mentella hybrid. The objective of this reply is to respond to their criticisms.
