Abstract

This paper supplements a previous paper dealing with hybridization in the genus Eriosema in southern Africa (Stirton, 1981). Two new hybrids are recognized from Natal: E. x provectum C. H. Stirt. (occasional plants over wide area) and E. x woodii C. H. Stirt. (common plants over restricted area). The hybrid numbers follow on from those given in Stirton (1981). The two hybrids are given epithets rather than hybrid formulae as they are both very distinctive taxa and easily separated from other Natal species of Eriosema. Previous hybrids that I have given formulae to may be more widespread but are usually less distinctive than their parents.
