Abstract

In this article we investigate the effect that hybridization between the 5s- and 4d-orbitals of Ag has in the calculations of Auger neutralization rate and ion survival probability for grazing collisions of He+ with Ag(110) surfaces. We find that it is important to include hybridization to get good agreement with experimental results specially at high incident energies, when the ions get closer to the surface.
