Abstract

A hybrid technology that combines striplines and E-plane metallic waveguides is proposed for creating an efficient feeding network at K band. The hybrid structures consist of stripline circuits directly connected to the radiators and of E-plane metallic waveguides that are employed for the main distribution network of the array. To investigate the characteristics of the proposed technology, a 4×4 array of circular waveguide radiators was designed and created. Both simulated and measured results demonstrate that the hybrid waveguide-stripline configuration holds promise for the creation of efficient feeding networks for arrays operating at higher frequencies.
