Abstract

In this work, hybrid Taguchi-Genetic approach is used in order to design electromagnetic absorber for microwave frequencies. Aim of the approach is to find minimum absorber thickness that gives minimum reflection at the input of absorber. Hybrid Taguchi Genetic Algorithm (HTGA) employs Taguchi Algorithm (TA) and Genetic Algorithm (GA) to obtain a thin absorber with minimum reflection coefficient in a broadband for wide range of incidence angles and TE-TM polarizations. GA and TA are also used in the optimization process. Results of HTGA, GA and TA are compared. Optimization results of HTGA for different types of electromagnetic absorbers are also compared with the results given in the literature.
