Abstract

The acquisition performance of a hybrid slow frequency hopped direct sequence spread spectrum (SFH/DS SS) communication link in the presence of multitone jamming is analysed. Equations are derived to enable analysis of the optimisation of the jamming strategy. It is shown that the jamming strategy may be optimised by varying the number of tones. It is also shown that a higher DS spreading gain is preferable in improving the anti-jam capability of the sychronisation system against the multitone jammer.
