Abstract

Hybrid renewable energy system is combination of two or more renewable energy resource and storage device to generate electricity. HRES is better option for rural and remote areas to fulfill energy demand. This paper deals with design of PV, micro hydro, battery and grid connected hybrid system for a small village to meet electricity demand. For simulation of hybrid system HOMER software is utilized. HOMER (Hybrid Optimization Model for Electric Renewable) is used for technical, economical assessment and simulation of hybrid system. For this design metrological data of radiation is given for Panahalghar village from solar calculator designed by ISRO and MNRE of India. The simulation results shows, the hybrid energy system can fulfill electricity demand and reduces the grid dependency at reduced cost of energy.
