Abstract
The article focuses on the different aspects of hybrid cars, better say hybrid electric cars as a budding segment in the automobile industry. A hybrid car must have two fuel injections in the engine to be titled as hybrid, one is electricity and the other may be petrol, diesel, and gasoline. The concept of hybrid electric cars is not new; the first venture was made by Ferdinand Porsche in 1901. But it got the platform with Toyota Prius and Honda Insight. The current scenario witnesses some great developments in this hybrid segment and the future going to see the Renaissance of the same. This segment is forced to be developed to protect the environment and the natural fuels. The hybrid cars are friendly to the environment and an instrument to save the natural fuels like petrol, diesel etc. They are less costly to maintenance as all-electric operation has been estimated to be cheaper than other fuel operation.
