Abstract

Hybrid beamforming, which consists of baseband and phase shifter network (PN), is a key technology for massive multiple input multiple output (Massive MIMO), due to the architecture of hybrid beamforming can reduce the overhead of radio frequency (RF) chains. In this paper, we study the hybrid beamforming for multi-user multi-data stream system. Then we propose two hybrid beamforming design algorithms based on minimum mean square error (MMSE). Finally, the influence of the phase shifter resolution and the number of RF chains on the hybrid beamforming performance is analyzed by simulation.
